The Humboldt Crabs (36 Wins – 6 Losses) completed a weekend sweep of the Fresno A’s with an 18-1 win on Sunday afternoon at the Arcata Ball Park. Gabe Giosso led the hitting for Humboldt with three hits, while David Morgan and Aaron Casillas followed with two hits each. The Crabs got things started early in the first inning with Casillas stealing his way home on a missed cue by the A’s. The Crabs followed with five quick runs and entered the second inning with a 6-0 lead. Home runs by Andrew Allanson and Aidan Morris sparked another six-run surge in the second inning for a 12-0 lead. The Crabs never looked back after this.

Will Springer got the win pitching for Humboldt, only allowing two hits and zero runs in his four innings. Manny Casillas and Chad Wilson closed out in relief.  “We took care of business,” Crabs manager Robin Guiver said. “Will Springer pitched really well to give us a good start.”

Next, the Crabs face the Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. at the Arcata Ball Park. “They’re gonna be legit. It’ll be a really fun two games,” Guiver said of the Goldpanners.
