The UC Davis freshman shortstop is from Newbury Park, in southern California where he was a multi sport athlete as well as a 3 year varsity starter and captain. Raised by his father Kevin and mother Vicki, Nick has two older siblings, Gabby (23) and Sean (21). Leehey was awarded scholar athlete awards all 4 years of his high school career. In the summer Leehey played with the Chicago Cubs Scout team where he was awarded the Cubs underclassmen of the year and Player of the Year in consecutive summers. Leehey has started all 23 games of the year so far at SS hitting .350 with 4 home runs, 8 doubles and 27 hits.
