Runs at a premium as Crabs defeat California Tigers 3-1

Both teams were strong on the mound Wednesday, but the Crabs defeated the California Tigers 3-1. Crabs pitchers allowed just four hits to the Tigers.

Merek Sears led the Crabs to victory on the hill. The fireballer allowed four hits and one run over six innings, striking out four. Diamond Loosli and Brady Chavez entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Chavez recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Humboldt.

Paul Montgomery took the loss for the Tigers. The pitcher went four innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out three.

Humboldt tallied seven hits in the game. Michael McKernan and Wyatt Reginatto all managed multiple hits for the CrabsReginatto and McKernan all had two hits to lead team.

Conner Harrison went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead California Tigers in hits.

Crabs grab lead in sixth inning to beat the California Tigers 5-1

The Crabs stole the lead late in the game in a 5-1 victory over California Tigers on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with the Crabs batting in the bottom of the sixth when Braden Frank singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Humboldt pulled away for good with five runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth an error scored one run for the CrabsCameron Saso‘s sac fly scored one run for Humboldt, and an error scored one run for the Crabs.

Gabe Tanner led the Crabs to victory on the hill. Tanner went six innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out seven. Benjy Tucker and Billy Ham entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Aiden Brothers took the loss for the Tigers. The bulldog surrendered one run on one hit over one-third of an inning, walking one.

Cameron Phelps started the game for the Tigers. The hurler allowed zero hits and four runs over five and a third innings, striking out one.

Frank led the Crabs with one hit in two at bats.
