GAME 3: Two pitchers work together as Humboldt shuts out Bercovich Honors

The Humboldt Crabs defeated Bercovich Honors 2-0 on Sunday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Benjy Tucker induced a groundout from Ty Clappin to finish off the game.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Crabs pitchers struck out seven, while Bercovich Honors pitchers sat down seven.

One bright spot for Bercovich Honors was a single by Caleb Chance in the third inning.

Nolan Long earned the win for the Humboldt Crabs. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over seven and two-thirds innings, striking out six. Tucker threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Tucker recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Humboldt.

Jake Fields took the loss for Bercovich Honors. The hurler went four and a third innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out two.

Billy HamKawana SoaresLuke Reece, and Peyton Miller each collected one hit to lead the Crabs. Humboldt didn’t commit a single error in the field. Ham had the most chances in the field with 11.

GAME 2: Crabs down Bercovich Honors, 5-1

The Humboldt Crabs put up four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by the Crabs was led by Jackson GiaconeMichael McKernanMason Hirata, and Billy Ham, all driving in runs in the frame.

Cameron Saso was the winning pitcher for Humboldt CrabsSaso surrendered one run on three hits over five innings, striking out seven. Brady Chavez threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Evan Gallegos took the loss for Bercovich Honors. Gallegos surrendered four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out one and walking one.

Braden Frank led Crabs with two hits in four at bats.

Jackson Nystrom went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Bercovich Honors in hits.

GAME 1: Crabs fall to Bercovich Honors

Carter March took the win for Bercovich Honors. The ace surrendered one run on four hits over six innings, striking out one. Bobby Brown threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Brown recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Bercovich Honors.

Caleb Ruiz took the loss for Humboldt Crabs. The hurler allowed six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Humboldt Crabs totaled eight hits. Luke Reece and Billy Ham all managed multiple hits for Humboldt CrabsReece led Humboldt Crabs with three hits in four at bats.

Bercovich Honors tallied ten hits in the game. Zack GardnerJackson NystromMalachi Francois, and Brown each racked up multiple hits for Bercovich Honors. Gardner went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Bercovich Honors in hits.
