GAME 2: Two pitchers team up as Humboldt Crabs defeats Alameda Anchors in shut-out

Humboldt Crabs defeated Alameda Anchors 10-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Clayton Ray induced a groundout from JP Boyle to finish off the game.

Humboldt Crabs fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Humboldt Crabs.

Humboldt Crabs put up four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Humboldt Crabs was led by Cameron SasoMichael McKernan, and Peyton Miller, all knocking in runs in the inning.

A triple by Connor Hennings in the fifth inning was a positive for Alameda Anchors.

Merek Sears took the win for Humboldt Crabs. The hurler lasted six innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out nine and walking one. Ray threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jacob Pubill took the loss for Alameda Anchors. The bulldog lasted five and a third innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out four and walking one.

Humboldt Crabs totaled 13 hits. McKernanMillerSaso, and Javier Felix all managed multiple hits for Humboldt CrabsMcKernan went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Humboldt Crabs in hits.

Hennings led Alameda Anchors with two hits in three at bats.

GAME 1: Big fourth inning propels Crabs win over Alameda Anchors

Humboldt Crabs defeated Alameda Anchors 18-1 on Tuesday thanks to a timely 14 runs in a big fourth inning. The offensive firepower by Humboldt Crabs was led by Luke ReeceMichael McKernanJackson GiaconeCubby CortezMason Hirata, and Colby Lunsford, all knocking in runs in the inning.

In the first inning, Humboldt Crabs got their offense started when Lunsford singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Alameda Anchors evened things up at one in the top of the third inning. Aidan Taclas singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Humboldt Crabs pulled away for good with 14 runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Antonio Velasquez induced Reece to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, McKernan singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Humboldt CrabsCortez drew a walk, scoring one run, Hirata singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Lunsford tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, Billy Ham drew a walk, scoring one run, Braden Frank singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Humboldt Crabs, an error scored one run for Humboldt Crabs, and Hirata singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Gabe Tanner got the win for Humboldt Crabs. The pitcher surrendered one run on three hits over five innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Colton Wuelfling threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Velasquez took the loss for Alameda Anchors. The bulldog allowed seven hits and nine runs over three and a third innings, striking out one.
