Crabs take game two against Athletic Edge Express 5-2 on Saturday, June 17
Humboldt Crabs took home a 5-2 victory over Athletic Edge Express on Saturday.
The Crabs got things moving in the second inning. Humboldt scored one run when Andrew Crane doubled.
Cameron Saso pitched Humboldt to victory. The righthander went seven innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out five and walking one. Drew Woody and Trevor Allen entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Allen recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Humboldt Crabs.
Xavian Dominguez took the loss for Athletic Edge Express. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over two innings, striking out one.
Billy Ham went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Humboldt in hits. The Crabs was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Cubby Cortez made the most plays with eight.

Crabs grab lead in sixth inning to defeat Athletic Edge Express 6-3 on Friday, June 16
The Crabs took the lead late in the game in a 6-3 victory over Athletic Edge Express on Friday. The game was tied at three with Humboldt batting in the bottom of the sixth when Luke Reece singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Athletic Edge Express fired up the offense in the first inning. An error scored one run for Athletic Edge Express.
Athletic Edge Express knotted the game up at three in the top of the fourth inning, when Tyler Nordyke singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
The Crabs pulled away for good with three runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Kawana Soares singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run and Braden Frank‘s sac fly scored one run for Humboldt Crabs.
Caleb Ruiz led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Humboldt. The hurler surrendered three runs on 11 hits over five innings, striking out two and walking one.
Luke Dillon led things off on the mound for Athletic Edge Express. The bulldog surrendered six runs on ten hits over seven innings, striking out two. Gavin Valls threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Humboldt smacked one home run on the day. Billy Ham went for the long ball in the first inning.
The Crabs collected ten hits. Ham, Reece, and Griffin Myers each had multiple hits for Humboldt. Ham went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Crabs in hits.
Athletic Edge Express totaled 12 hits in the game. Joe Brown, Dylan Petersen, and Cam Duran each managed multiple hits for Athletic Edge Express. Athletic Edge Express didn’t commit a single error in the field. Robert Gabbert had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
