Pitcher Cole Tremain from Sacramento State helped the Humboldt Crabs bounce back Saturday from a season-opening loss to Lincoln Potters, earning their first win of the young season, 4-1, setting up a rubber match Sunday afternoon at the Arcata Ball Park.
Tremain retired the last nine batters he faced in his five innings of work, finishing with seven strikeouts, no walk, and no runs allowed. Manny Casillas and Sean Prozell finished what Tremain had begun, each striking out four, giving Crabs pitchers a total of 15 K’s on the evening.
The top of the lineup provided much of the offense for the Crabs, with Dylan McPhillips and Aaron Casillas each getting two hits and an RBI, and Gabe Giosso driving in the first run of the game with a deep first-inning sacrifice fly.
