August 5, 2018 — Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between Humboldt Crabs and Bay Area Blues where Humboldt Crabs prevailed 19-6 on Sunday, at the Arcata Ballpark on the last day of the 74th season.

Humboldt Crabs opened up scoring in the first inning, when Connor Blair grounded out, scoring one run.

Humboldt Crabs notched six runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by Humboldt Crabs was led by Jackson O'Boy, Bronson Grubbs, Kokko Figueiredo, and McCarthy Tatum, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Bay Area Blues scored three runs in the sixth inning. Bay Area Blues offense in the inning was led by John Quintal and Sal Heredia, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Andrew Najeeb-Brush earned the win for Humboldt Crabs. He lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and six runs while striking out three. Alexander Trautner and Ryan Sullivan entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Evan Yedinak took the loss for Bay Area Blues. He allowed three hits and four runs over two innings.

Humboldt Crabs had 18 hits in the game. Grubbs, Wesley Ghan-Gibson, Kellen Strahm, Otis Statum, Ramon Enriquez, and Tatum all had multiple hits for Humboldt Crabs. Grubbs went 4-for-6 at the plate to lead Humboldt Crabs in hits.

Bay Area Blues tallied eight hits in the game. Jarius Richards, Quintal, and Heredia all managed multiple hits for Bay Area Blues.

Humboldt takes early lead in victory over Bay Area Blues, 9-4

August 4, 2018 — Humboldt Crabs defeated Bay Area Blues 9-4 thanks to a strong start. Humboldt Crabs scored on a single by Jackson Kritch and a groundout by Santiago Cantu in the second inning.

In the bottom of the first inning, Humboldt Crabs tied things up at one when an error scored one run for Humboldt Crabs.

Humboldt Crabs pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Kritch singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run and Cantu grounded out, scoring one run.

Dylan Campbell earned the win for Humboldt Crabs. He surrendered two runs on five hits over six innings, striking out one and walking one. Wyatt Tucker threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Ben Clegg took the loss for Bay Area Blues. He lasted three innings, allowing four hits and three runs.

Humboldt Crabs tallied 12 hits in the game. Bronson Grubbs, Kokko Figueiredo, and McCarthy Tatum all had multiple hits for Humboldt Crabs. Grubbs led Humboldt Crabs with three hits in five at bats.

Bay Area Blues racked up seven hits on the day. Mitch Sancer and Jonah Gonzalez all managed multiple hits for Bay Area Blues.

Connor Blair drives in four as the Crabs defeat Bay Area Blues 12-6

August 3, 2018— Connor Blair wasted no opportunities at the plate on Friday night, driving in four on two hits to lead Humboldt Crabs past Bay Area Blues 12-6 on Friday. Blair drove in runs on a in the first, a home run in the second, and a double in the eighth.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Humboldt Crabs collected ten hits and Bay Area Blues had ten.

Humboldt Crabs got on the board in the first inning when Blair was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

Humboldt Crabs notched four runs in the second inning. Humboldt Crabs batters contributing to the big inning included Jackson O'Boy, Kokko Figueiredo, and Blair, all driving in runs in the inning.

Bay Area Blues scored three runs in the sixth inning. Grady Caldwell, Josh Lauck, and Nick Adgar powered the big inning with RBIs.

Zach Wallace pitched Humboldt Crabs to victory. He allowed eight hits and four runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Justin Berry and Ryan Sullivan entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Andrew Castleman took the loss for Bay Area Blues. He allowed three hits and six runs over one and one-third innings.

Humboldt Crabs socked one home run on the day. Blair had a four bagger in the second inning.

Humboldt Crabs had ten hits in the game. Figueiredo, Otis Statum, and Blair each collected multiple hits for Humboldt Crabs. Figueiredo went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Humboldt Crabs in hits.

Bay Area Blues collected ten hits on the day. Caldwell, Lauck, Jarius Richards, and Anthony Flores each had multiple hits for Bay Area Blues.
